I purchased this wall hanging from Urban Outfitters about 2-3 mos. ago. I saw it, and immediately knew I HAD to have it. I love the fact that it is embroidered...it adds an element of detail and texture that you wouldn't get with just a print. You can read more about it here. It replaced this picture, and is hanging above our bed.

An obsession that has been more consistent for me is DOGS. I constantly find myself being drawn to DOGS...real dogs, pictures of dogs, etc. My mom's precious, long-time friend had a painter in France paint a picture of her dogs. The colors in the painting are from the same color scheme that was in her home. The painting was finished and shipped here to the US, some 10 years ago or so. I have always been in complete and total AWE of it, and told her a few years ago that if she ever wanted to get rid of it to let me know. Well that day came...she has passed it on to me, and it currently adorns a wall of our home! I LOVE it! The colors flow well with my decor, and I happened to have the perfect place for this painting, as it is pretty large. And, on top of that, I have had a thing for the whole "doggies-dressed-as-people" art (especially William Wegman's photography), so, yes this painting is right at home. Some of my friends and fam. find this type of art "creepy", but I am really drawn to it. So, I'll delay no longer...(this shot was taken using the DREADED flash, so it is a little washed out)
